Privacy Policy
Keykick is an iPhone keyboard that translates and rewrites messages. This policy explains what data Keykick handles, why, and what you control. Keykick is provided by TBT Capital Ltd ("we", "us"). Contact: keykick@tbtcap.com.
The short version
- Nothing you type or copy is sent anywhere until you tap the arrow, Translate, or the search button.
- When you tap the arrow, only that message is sent, to translate it. We don't store it.
- We don't sell data, show ads, or track you across apps or websites.
Full Access
iOS asks you to give a keyboard "Full Access" before it can use the internet. Keykick needs it only to send the message you choose to translate. With Full Access, iOS technically lets a keyboard read what you type; Keykick does not record, store or transmit your keystrokes. Without Full Access, Keykick works as a regular keyboard and sends nothing.
What we process
- Messages you translate. When you tap the arrow, the text in the bar (or in the app's text field, if you're typing there) is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and to Anthropic, whose Claude model writes the translation. Your chosen target language and writing style are sent with it. Our server passes the request on and does not store the text or the translation.
- An anonymous device ID. The app creates a random identifier that isn't linked to your name, Apple ID or device hardware. It's sent with each translation so we can apply a daily usage limit. Our server keeps a counter per ID per day, deleted automatically after 36 hours.
- Technical data. Like any internet service, our hosting provider sees your IP address and basic request details in order to deliver the request. We don't use it to identify you.
- Messages you copy. When you copy text (for example a message someone sent you) and open the keyboard, Keykick checks on your iPhone whether it's in another language and offers to translate it. It's sent, the same way as above, only if you tap Translate.
- Searches. If you tap the search button, the text opens as a search in your browser (Google). From then on, Google's privacy policy applies.
What stays on your iPhone
Your settings (languages, style, appearance), the text in the bar before you tap the arrow, autocorrect (done on your device by the iOS spell checker), and your text replacement shortcuts, which Keykick reads from iOS to use while you type. None of this is sent to us.
Service providers
- Anthropic, PBC (USA) processes messages to produce translations. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, API data isn't used to train its models and is deleted within 30 days, except where longer retention is needed to enforce its usage policy or is required by law. More at privacy.claude.com.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) hosts our server and website and carries the network traffic.
These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
What we don't do
No ads, no selling or sharing of data for advertising, no tracking, no analysis of what you write, no accounts.
Legal basis (EEA, UK and similar laws)
We process messages to give you the translation you ask for (performance of a contract), and the device ID and technical data for our legitimate interest in running and protecting the service.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to processing, or complain to a data protection authority. Because we don't store your messages and the device ID can't be linked to you, there is usually nothing for us to retrieve, but you can always write to keykick@tbtcap.com. Deleting the app removes the device ID and your settings from your iPhone.
Children
Keykick isn't directed to children under 13 (or the higher age set by local law), and we don't knowingly collect their data.
This website
keykick.app uses no cookies and no analytics. It only remembers your language choice in your browser, to show the page in your language.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date above. For significant changes, we'll also let you know in the app.
